Blood And Gold: Volume Three

Blood and Gold follows Hermione Granger, who is accidentally transported from the post-war wizarding world into 1950, where she encounters Tom Riddle before his transformation into Lord Voldemort. Knowing the future that awaits him, Hermione finds herself in the extraordinary position of confronting a man who has not yet become the Dark Lord she knows from history.

Volume Three continues the later portion of this long-form time-travel narrative, as Hermione’s involvement with Tom Riddle becomes increasingly difficult to separate from the political and magical world surrounding him. Her knowledge of the future remains both her greatest advantage and a source of danger, while Tom’s growing interest in her creates an increasingly complicated struggle involving trust, manipulation, power, and attraction.

By this stage of the story, the narrative has expanded beyond the initial time-travel premise into a much broader examination of magical politics, dark magic, the Department of Mysteries, pure-blood society, and the consequences of altering history. Hermione’s experiences in the past also remain connected to her original life after the war, creating tension between the world she came from and the one in which she has become deeply entangled.

The relationship between Hermione and Tom remains central, but it is deliberately morally complicated. The story presents Tom as an increasingly dangerous and obsessive figure rather than simply transforming him into a conventional romantic hero. Volume Three therefore functions as the culmination of a sprawling narrative concerned with power, free will, obsession, identity, morality, love, and the consequences of changing history.
