“Even the most obsessive Swiftie will discover new Easter eggs in these pages.”—Oprah Daily

From a Robert Frost poem on her debut album to the myth of Cassandra on The Tortured Poets Department, Taylor Swift’s lyrics are filled with literary connections.

What if your favorite songs were actually chapters in a much larger literary tradition?

In Taylor Swift by the Book by Rachel Feder, readers are invited to explore the rich literary influences woven throughout the music of Taylor Swift. From classic fairy tales to gothic poetry and modern novels, this insightful work uncovers the hidden layers behind some of Swift’s most iconic lyrics.

Set at the intersection of literature and pop culture, the book introduces readers to the texts, themes, and storytelling traditions that shape Swift’s songwriting. Whether it’s echoes of romantic tragedy, folklore, or feminist narratives, each chapter reveals how her music connects to a broader literary canon.

But this is more than analysis—it’s an invitation to see familiar songs in a completely new light. As patterns emerge, readers begin to recognize how storytelling, symbolism, and emotional depth elevate pop music into something timeless.

With each connection uncovered, the stakes grow: what else have we been missing in plain sight?

Smart, engaging, and deeply rewarding, this book transforms the listening experience—proving that great music doesn’t just sound good, it tells stories that have been echoing for centuries.
